Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center

The Tuskegee Human and Civil Rights Multicultural Center is a local and civil rights history museum located in downtown Tuskegee, Alabama. Journey from a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth to the time of early Indian cultures, European colonization, Creek Indian wars, Alabama's frontier days, statehood, antebellum culture, the Civil War, segregation, and the battle for civil rights. The museum houses a permanent memorial to the victims of the infamous Tuskegee Syphilis Study, and interactive exhibits detailing the Study, the local civil rights movement, the county’s history from the time of the dinosaurs until World War II, the Tuskegee National Forest, and voting rights marches. It also serves as the official visitor center for Macon County and the City of Tuskegee.
